Why we only work one city

Companies that cover half the county spend their day in traffic and learn a little about everywhere. We stayed put. Working the same streets means we know the tract layouts, we know which blocks have alley access and which do not, and we can usually picture your yard before we pull up.

It also means our schedule works. When we say we will be there Thursday morning, we are not fighting an hour of freeway to get to you. And when the wind kicks up overnight, our crews are close enough to actually respond.

How we work

Nearly everything here is a rope job. Yards are small, houses sit close together, and back yards mostly have no vehicle access, so we climb and lower rather than fell and drop. Plywood and mats go down over pool decking, stamped concrete, and pavers before anything comes out of the tree. Gates and fences get measured, not guessed at.

Cleanup is not the last item on a list, it is the standard we get judged on. Brush goes into the chipper as it comes down instead of piling up in the street, the driveway and sidewalk get blown, and we do a walk with you before the trucks leave. Neighbors notice this, and most of our work comes from someone across the street watching a job.

What you get in writing

• A flat price, not a range. Quoted after we see the tree and the access, and it includes hauling everything away.
• Proof of insurance before we start. Liability and workers' compensation, handed over without you having to chase it.
• A straight recommendation. If a trim solves it, we will not sell you a removal. If a tree is unsafe, we will say so plainly and show you what we are looking at.
• No pressure and no deposit games. You get the number, you decide, we schedule.

What we handle

The bulk of our work is keeping the trimming schedule on the mature trees that came in with these neighborhoods, plus the palm work nobody else wants to climb. When a tree is finished, we do takedowns on tight lots, and after that we grind out what is left.

Storm season changes the mix. From October to March a good share of our week is wind damage: hangers, split unions, and trees that lifted out of wet ground. That work is unpredictable and we build slack into the calendar for it, because a hanging limb over a bedroom cannot wait for a slot next month.
